OSINT Training Log: The Next Generation of Cybersecurity Professionals

Every generation of investigators faces a new frontier. 

OSINT Industries attended an event with Hack2G2, a French student-led cybersecurity community dedicated to sharing knowledge through technical workshops, threat intelligence discussions, and hands-on challenges. 

During the event our President, Megadose (@palenath), led a session for future OSINT pros; showcasing how OSINT Industries tools can help the next generation investigate an increasingly complex digital world.

Mission Objective: Training the Next Generation

OSINT is at the forefront of intelligence innovation. Today, over 90% of data used in intelligence investigations comes from publicly available sources. From the downing of MH17 to sarin production in Syria, the most major geopolitical cases are increasingly intertwined with OSINT. 

The Hitch-Hacker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Hack2G2) has been running since 2015. They host technical talks, workshops, and cyber-threat intelligence competitions like Capture-the-Flag - all with the aim of inspiring and educating the cybersecurity pros of the future. Together with OSINT Industries, they’re adding OSINT to the next generation’s toolkit.

• OpSec Best Practices: Operational security techniques for modern work
• Digital Data Handling: Workflows for analysing, processing and using OSINT data in a real-world context

In his session, @palenath demonstrated how OSINT Industries’ tools can transform digital traces into actionable intelligence. His presentation offered attendees a glimpse into the investigative toolkit of the future: one specialised for speed, accuracy and collaboration.
